1. What are Cookies and Local Storage?
Cookies are small text files placed on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. Local storage is a modern browser feature that allows websites to store key-value data directly on your device without transmitting it over the network on every HTTP request.
2. How PDF Studio Uses Storage
We believe in minimal data footprint. We use storage strictly for two purposes:
A. Strictly Necessary / Functional Local Storage
Theme Preference: Stored under key theme in your browser's localStorage. This ensures that your choice between Dark Mode and Light Mode is remembered when you navigate between pages.
B. Anonymous Analytics Cookies (Google Analytics / GTM)
We use Google Analytics (GA4) with first-party cookies (such as _ga and _ga_*) to understand general traffic statistics (such as total visitor count, country breakdown, and average visit duration). These cookies contain randomized alphanumeric identifiers and never store document data or personal identity.
3. What We Do NOT Store
- We do NOT use cross-site advertising tracking cookies or data broker trackers.
- We do NOT store PDF files or text contents in persistent cookies.
- We do NOT fingerprint devices or harvest personal profiles.
4. How to Manage or Disable Cookies
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. You may also install standard privacy extensions or enable “Do Not Track” in your browser. Disabling analytics cookies will not impair your ability to use any PDF editing, merging, signing, or OCR features on PDF Studio.
