Verified Privacy Architecture

Privacy Policy

Core Privacy Principle: Your PDFs Never Leave Your Device

Unlike traditional cloud PDF services that transmit your files to remote web servers for processing, PDF Studio operates entirely inside your browser using WebAssembly and local JavaScript memory. We do not, and technically cannot, view, upload, store, or sell your documents.

1. Processing of PDF Documents & User Files

When you open, edit, merge, split, annotate, sign, OCR, or protect a PDF using PDFStudio:

  • Zero File Uploads: Document data is loaded into your browser’s local RAM and processed through client-side engines (such as PDF.js, pdf-lib, and Tesseract.js Web Workers).
  • Zero Server Retention: No copy of your files, images, signatures, or text is transmitted to our servers or stored on remote disks.
  • Immediate Disposal: When you close the browser tab or refresh the page, all document data in memory is instantly cleared.

2. Information We Collect

Because our tools operate locally, we do not require account registration, passwords, names, or payment details. The only data collected includes:

  • Technical Web Logs: Like all standard web hosting infrastructures, our hosting providers record standard HTTP request logs (IP address, user agent, requested URL, and timestamp) for cybersecurity and DDoS prevention.
  • Anonymous Usage Telemetry: We use Google Analytics (GA4) / Google Tag Manager to monitor general aggregate metrics (e.g. daily active visitors, browser types, country of origin).
  • Strict Telemetry Isolation: We never log document names, personal identifiers, document sizes, or text extracted from your files.

3. Cookies and Local Storage

PDF Studio uses minimal browser storage:

  • Theme Preferences: We store your preferred visual theme (light or dark mode) in localStorage so your preference persists across visits.
  • Analytics Cookies: Standard first-party analytics cookies (_ga) to distinguish unique visitors anonymously.

For complete details, please see our dedicated Cookie Policy.

4. Third-Party Services

Our website uses the following verified third-party infrastructure providers:

  • Hosting & Content Delivery: Global CDN providers for serving static HTML, CSS, and WebAssembly bundles.
  • Google Analytics (GA4): Aggregated traffic measurement. You can opt out of analytics tracking by enabling “Do Not Track” in your browser or using standard privacy extensions.

5. Children’s Privacy

PDF Studio is a general audience productivity utility. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location (such as under GDPR or CCPA), you have rights regarding your personal data. Because we do not collect personal identifiers, account profiles, or uploaded documents, there is no personal database to query, modify, or delete.
